About Us

Are you ever alone and frightened due to your undocumented status? Are you always on high alert? Having been there, I know what it’s like. After living this way for over 20 years, I felt there had to be a better way to cope with the stresses of living in the shadows of the United States.

I used to think that I wasn’t good enough or that I dreamt too high. I was once told by a close family member that I was worthless and wouldn’t amount to anything in life, and yet I went on to attain four college degrees, I’ve traveled the world, and worked in the biggest city in the world, New York City in just a few short years. I owe it all to the DACA program that gave me the glimmer of hope that I needed to pursue my dreams.

My goal is to provide an avenue for other dreamers to share their stories and educate others who do not fully understand the emotional, spiritual, psychological, and physical traumas accompanying the undocumented experience.

Being formerly undocumented inspired me to create this blog site and podcast so I could share my experiences and struggles with others. In addition to bringing awareness to the issues and challenges we face, I hope to provide a forum for others to tell their stories and to help one another overcome them.

My dream for The Dreamer Diary is to one day provide scholarships to dreamers and non-dreamers alike. I created my own merchandise store to help fund future scholarships.
